Portraits. That was the brief I was given one week during my Image Production class, to find and photograph 5 different subjects over the course of a week. We were given direction for exactly who to photograph, but the how was left completely up to us. Having done a little photography before I wanted to challenge myself and my creativity, so pushed myself to experiment with lighting.
Throughout the project I worked with a multitude of different forms of light, from natural daylight and sunset, to artificial lights with opaque folders to tint them, even experimenting with a lava lamp.
I found the images produced from the project colourful, creative and interesting, and that the experimentation had paid off.
The project also helped me as a designer as I felt myself noticing how the light affected my surroundings more so than normal, which will help me in my future projects, and so I hope to do another project like this again soon.
